Open Question: PCOS Menstrual Cycle Problem?
Hello, I have PCOS. I recently went off the birth control pills (because they were making me crazy) about 3 months ago. I got my period for the first 2 months without the help of drugs; however, I haven't gotten my period for this third month and it's now been 45 days. I am incredibly bloated, my ovaries are killing me and I'm retaining water like crazy. I would love to know if there are any NATURAL home remedies I can take to force my period to come. I just need to force it down so that I can relief the bloating, pain, and water retention. I know once I get my period all those problems will go away. Please, if any of you know of any natural ways to force my period, let me know. Thanks! (I have a non-hormonal IUD on at the moment). moreOpen Question: Tart/Sour cherries for pain relief?
Anyone have any reputable information on the dosing? Or if it's even effective for major pain? I'm currently taking "Naproxen Sod 550 tabs" and have to take two or three in a day to be somewhat pain-free. Looking for a more natural alternative. moreResolved Question: Do I have any pain relief options during labor if i choose not to get an IV?
HI I AM CURRENTLY PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND CHILD. I AM EXPECTING IN JANUARY AND HAVE DECIDED IF ALL GOES WELL I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A VBAC DELIVERY WITH THIS CHILD. I AM OPTING NOT TO RELIEVE AN IV DURING LABOR BECAUSE I HATE ALL THE SWELLING THAT COMES ALONG WITH THEM EVERYTIME I RECIEVE ONE (MY DOC HAS ADVISED ME THAT I WILL STILL HAVE AN IV NEEDLE PUT IN HOWEVER IT WILL HAVE A HEP LOCK SO NOT HOOKED UP TO A TOWER OR FLUIDS JUST THERE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY). I HAD A C SECTION WITH MY FIRST CHILD AND AM NOT AT ALL WANTING A EPIDURAL WITH THIS UPCOMING DELIVERY (YES I KNOW LABOR IS GOING TO BE HORRIBLE BUT I KNOW I CAN HANDLE IT WITH SUPPORT) BUT I MAY BE INTERSTED IN PAIN RELIEF BY NARCOTICS LIKE MAYBE STADOL BUT CAN YOU RECIEVE THAT IN SHOT FORM WITHOUT NEEDING TO BE HOOKED UP TO AN IV TOWER. STADOL IS ONLY A SLIGHT POSSILBILTY I AM REALLY WANTING TO GO ALL NATURAL. HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD ANY TYPE OF PAIN RELIEF SHOTS DURING LABOR WITHOUT AN EPIDURAL OR IV ? moreResolved Question: Question about Darvocet-N 100 Tab and Aspirin Please Help??
I have Horrible Headaches and Severe Back Pain from an injury at work and I am concerned about taking pain medicine. I had a blood test about a year ago and it came back normal for my kidney's and liver. I take Headache Relief from walmart it has Aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. And I take the Darvocet for the back pain and sometimes for the headaches. Also my urine changes from dark yellow to clear. Whats going on??? Also if you know of any natural alternative for pain would be helpful??? I have tried heat, cold, bio-freeze, icy hot, and massager's, they help sometimes but very minimal. Thank you for your help :) moreResolved Question: Has anyone used IV pain meds for labor/delivery?
I recently finished my prenatal classes. They went over the different pain relief options. The IV pain meds sounded a bit more appealing to me vs. an epidural. Being completely numb and not being able to move around at all during labor kind of freaks me out. Also the fact that the anesthesiologist may not get the needle in right the first time. I have heard from people who have done all natural births and others that used an epidural, but I've never heard from anyone that has tried the IV method. Is there anyone out there who has and can tell me their experience? moreResolved Question: Why do people hate on Marijuana so bad?
"Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere." -George Washington "Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country." - Thomas Jefferson Now if two of our founding fathers supported it, and our country was built off of there outlooks then why in the world do we outlaw it now? Well I guess the constitution is pretty much out of the picture...soo no surprises there. Just to list some of the medicinal properties of this so called " drug-plant" Its use for Anorexia, Asthma, Nausea, Pain, Peptic Ulcer, Alcoholism, Glaucoma, Epilepsy, Depression, Migraine, Anxiety, Inflammation,Hypertension, Insomnia, Cancer Interestingly, relief of many of the symptoms marijuana was used for in these illnesses are many of the same symptoms that have been proven in modern research. This should not be surprising unless we want to assume that all of the experience of thousands of years did not have some factual basis. The only natural and reliable cure left on the planet is THC oil, The antibiotics used have to be constantly morphed and changed, because the virus is constantly evolving. Weed on the other hand stays the same. SOO long story shot, everyone who hates on it and says that people who do smoke are nothing but ignorant and don't truly know any facts.Well here in California its legal it has been for medical patients for years and were voting again to make it legal in November. So no its not really illegal. Plus its WAY less harmfull than alcohol and that IS legal. Humm, whats wrong with this picture. How many people a year die from alcohol? And how many die from a pot overdose? Yeah that's what I though. moreResolved Question: What causes back labor?
I went into natural labor at 36 weeks. I had HORRIBLE back labor and showed up at the hospital in terrible pain. With every contraction it would feel like a terrible cramp in my abdomen and than like a gunshot would go off in my back and continue until the next contraction. There was no relief or break in between contractions. I ended up having a csection after 48 hours of excruciating pain and I was wore out! I had nothing left and I only got dilated to a 2! They didn't induce poticin because I couldn't take anymore and the dr said my back labour would possibly get worse (which is unimaginable). I just wonder why this happened. I was planning on going all natural and honestly looking back if it wouldn't of been for the terrible back labour i could've done it. AND it wasnt muscle pain either (people say well they have bad back pain in pregnancy its probably that) I had that too- this was different it wasnt in any muscle it was like an organ bursting ever few seconds. There was no position I could get into or no way to rub it out. I was literally asking for death- they gave me dilotted for pain and that barely touched it! It was insane.Also- is it likely to happen again in future labors?I've searched and cant find much info on back labor or even other stories similiar to mine. One nurse told me she was working labor and delivery for 30 years and never saw back labor like mine. So what in the heck happened to me?? I have wondered for months and honestly am terrified of getting pregnant again simply for the fear of back labor. Also I had been taking Terbutaline from 30 weeks on till the day I delivered at 36 weeks for contractions would this have something to do with it? moreResolved Question: Which is the best product Natural Arthritis Joint Pain Relief ?

I have found a lot of websites of natural pain relief for dogs. All of them say WHAT you can give to your dog, just not how. Which is aggravating, because I read that cayenne is good for your dog, yet it is spicy. If I give it to my dog, most likely he won't like it. I have also read that giving it topically is best, yet how do I do that? Mix it with water? Oil? Would it aggravate his skin? My dog has muscle/joint pain in one of his legs. I think he sprained it. We are going to call the vet, but for now I want so pain relief for him. (Preferably not OTC or chemical.) So how can I give my dog cayenne without aggravating him, and are there other treatments for leg pain? Right now he is laying down on a hard surface and laying on the leg, which I read can alleviate some pain. So he's doing something, I just wish I could. (I have given him a massage, and will give him a heat pack once I find my rice bag..) moreResolved Question: My dreams of becoming an Air Force Pilot were just crushed, I need advice!?
Back when I was becoming a teenager, my father passed away and I began to hang around the wrong crowd. Of course this led to the experimentation of smoking marijuana several times, which I guess is referred to as "drug abuse". However, when I got into high school, I straightened up, realized the importance of my future, and became very motivated to reach my life long dream of flying for the USAF. I isolated myself from that bad crowd, got involved in amateur boxing, worked part time, and focused strongly on my academics. Over these four years, I became disciplined and completely turned my life around. I made straight A's my entire senior year, and graduated with a 3.35 gpa, with 20 college credits, and 5 scholarships. I began investing much of my own time and money to work on my private pilots lisence. Flying my first solo at only 12 hours, my instructor said I'm natural for the part. I now have 20 hours. I just settled into my dream university and while taking some summer courses, which I continued to ace, I've been working real hard towards maxing out my PFT. Today came time to get spiffed up and walk into our ROTC building to sign up for my future. Everything was going great, until we got to filling out the last page of the application. It asked if I had used marijuana, I said yes. It asked if I had used any other illegal drugs, I said yes. The sargent saw this and handed me an additional form asking me to explicate these situations and elaborate. I admitted with all honesty that I had smoked marijuana about 5 years ago numerous times, and how I had taken one vicodin given to me by my mom when I had my wisdom teeth extracted and I had run out of mine for pain relief. The sargent pulled me into the hall and talked to me, saying that from what it looked like, it is highly unlikely that I could be accepted into ROTC, let alone the USAF. However, he did not have the full authority, and I could set an appt. with the head commander to further go over these occurrences, as well as consider other aspects of me such as grades, fitness, moral, character, etc. and hope that he waives this to allow me to join. I honestly drove home in tears, realizing that my ultimate life goal to fly for the AF and serve my country had no hope. That all of that hard work and determination, waking up every morning with this dream pushing me to work hard, was crushed simply from something stupid I did many years ago. Let me state this, I haven't used drugs in a while, and do NOT intend on using them in the future. That phase of my life is completely in the past and regretted, but cannot be changed. So my question is, Is it worth it to make this appt. and try to get this waived? I mean of course I'm going to try, its just in my blood to never give up. But lets assume that he does waive this "drug abuse", will I ever have a shot to become a pilot in the air force with this drug abuse waiver on my record? I really have no where else to turn in life, and I hope I don't have to look for another path to follow. moreVoting Question: I want to kill Emily Woof, please help me!!!!?
Please only answer this question if you can be compassionate in your response and also have some knowledge of emotional trauma caused by relationships and upbringing, not just ******* psychical pain like this *****! I have suffered hysteria and an absolute craving to kill this woman based on her experience of 36 hours of labour in what she describes as dilated, anotherwords the second stage of labour with contractions every thirty seconds, and unable to progress, and she said the pain was indescribable, and that she was on the bathroom floor wanting to die. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/mar/13/natural-childbirth-caesarean-emily-woof Now the reason I feel this bad and had to phone my local emergency mental health helpline and was hysterical bellowing down the phone at them is because I have had terrible emotional traumas starting early in life, locked in room as toddler and abused by brother and tormented, and his death only 17 from collision with car, and other family problems etc. I have a lot of fears and one of them is labour, and what terrifies me is the physical pain from it resulting in trauma and why. I have had extreme unbearable physical pain, know it doesn't seem much, but after months of wisdom tooth cavity and constant pain, it got unbearable one day and was in hours of screaming pain, but even that I coped with because it wasn't continous and then after going to hospital and back home no pain relief working, waited for dentist appointment and then was in total unbearable pain and not a second of respite and I became chaotic throwing myself about screaming mum, mum, mum, help, help, help at top of my voice and then bashing my head against a wall in attempt to knock myself out, thought I'd go mad. But as a christian only thing that got me sane was throwing myself on god, and then pain was there but I about coped. But even then I thought if the dentist doesn't give anthesetic what will I do then, how will god help me cope with more hours of it, will I get suicidal with the pain? But fortunately I didn't have to wait much longer as pleaded dentist said didn't care how much it hurt just give me surgery or an injection and he did. But apart from violently shaking during and after and crying now and then for a few days I didn't suffer trauma, and I feel it's ridiculous to be talking about a toothache as something so unbearable, but it was just the constant nature and not a second of paining easing in slightest. But what makes me mad is that even though I don't normally feel wimpish about pains, had adult chickenpox which was unbearable but I coped, I am feeling hysterical about how can someone cope when they have unbearable maddening pain that does not have any slackening in the severity of it for hours and hours, such as what I had with the toothache, and not either go psychotic or in shock with the pain, pass out etc. or try to kill themselves? Because I comforted myself that even in labour though it feels unbearable it is not constant every second at the same horrific level pain, but then I read this woman's account and when she said contractions every thirty seconds and the dilation was thirty six hours I went into meltdown emotionally, thinking of myself in the horror (and it was horror and felt like hell) of me in the constant pain screaming help literally non stop for ages and bsahing my head to knock myself unconscious, and then thinking how can a person have that level of distress for hours, and thirty six hours???? I can't even begin to think, all I can think of is psychosis and desperation , but the most this woman says is she was on bathroom floor wanting to die. And my feelings of rage and hysteria are about how? why? what???? what does cause a person to totally lose it with constant mentally shattering pain, and why didn't she go into psychosis or shock or try to kill herself? And then I think I seem like a wimp because much more of my pain would have caused mental breakdown or suicide attempt. But I tried my BEST to deal with the pain, I was just thrown into mental disarray and think only the help I got from jesus saved me. So would this woman have suffered this mental chaos, head bashing , and verge of desperation the same as I experienced, and why wasn't she driven to suicide or psychosis, or do you think my experience of the constant maddening excruicating pain with not second of waning and my mental disarray as a result was because it was a different sort of pain, or because I am a wimp? This is what makes me nearly insanely furious. But when I read of excruciating contractions thirty seconds apart I wondered how different is that to my unbearable experience, and when she put thirty six hours, that's what caused my hysteria and wanting to know why she had not killed herself or gone into psychosis, when I feel the pain I had was driving me insane and to desperation if not for help from God or from medicati moreResolved Question: The following question is somewhat unusual for me, I am at pains to point out it must NOT be seen in the wrong?
The following question is somewhat unusual for me, I am at pains to point out it must NOT be seen in the wrong light, it is not racist by any means, it is a simple question based on recent News Reports: There have been several natural disasters over recent years; earthquakes, flooding et-cetera, et-cetera, when such disasters happen several charities head for those affected areas too give aid. One hears of Oxfam; Red Cross, Safe The Children et-cetera, et-cetera. But there is one charity, which I have never heard of before heading for any of those areas affected by natural disasters in the past, not in my job as a Welfare Officer or on the Evening News. I refer to the Islamic Relief Fund, which is giving aid to those in great need in Pakistan due to the flooding there. Now I most certainly do not and would condone this, I think it is great that the Islamic Relief Fund is helping. So here’s my question: Why is this the ‘first time’ one has heard of the Islamic Relief Fund, is it because Pakistan is a Muslim Country? Where was the Islamic Relief Fund when the quake hit Hattie, and famine and disease hit other countries? I am curious about this ‘apparent’ luck of ‘visible presence’ of the Islamic Relief Fund in the past. What are your views on this, because I have not heard of the Islamic Relief Fund giving aid to affected areas, someone else may have.Fariy Dreams: A reasonable answer, thanks.Quetzalcoat: Thank you for your input, I was not aware of that.Fiery Phoenix: I am most certainly not looking at the Islamic Relief Fund ‘suspiciously’ as apposed too other charities and it is quite wrong of you to suggest this. However, that said, I shall look at the web site you have given and I thank you for it. Peace. moreResolved Question: What do you think of women who do this?
Women who want to have a "natural" birth where they avoid chemical pain relief, epidurals, cesareans, inductions and medical intervention, but they request for their baby boys to be circumcised. I find this mentality to be both sad and deranged. Why on earth would the mother care if her birth is natural or not if she is going to do such an unnatural thing to her son? She doesn't want medical intervention for the birth, but she wants to circumcise her son. I find this so disgusting and hypocritical. moreResolved Question: Is it normal to not want to be at the top of my profession?
I'm 19 at the moment, i am training to be a midwife. I look around and see that i don't really want to be a boss, manager, coordinator. I want to be a basic standard midwife on band 6 -7pay ( possibly in a low risk unit as i am into natural birthing but with pain relief of you need it ( sort of contradicting myself but i know what i mean). this isn't a phase thing or being scared but i just wanna do that for my career. Most of the girls my age want to progress to the top and be boss and think its weird that i want to stay near the 'bottom' of the profession. I just want a nice simple life, where i work (usually 3 days a week unless i agency then 4 days), enjoy myself, have a house, car etc then when i am feel ready a family. Is it normal to want this for your career and not want to get to the top? I only ask as my class mates think it is odd to be a band 6-7 for maybe 40 years ( much of my career till i retire) and not want to be higher and they want a family in their 30's whereas i want them in my mid 20's and they say i have no ambition. Most midwives who want this have a family or are older than 21 ( the age that i will qualify at) Thanks for your opinions. moreResolved Question: any one had a water birth how was it?
have you tried normal birth as well? im due to go to a birthing centre where they have a pool only just decided husband very excited but not really sure how it works just know it helps with natural pain relief, we had a debate yesterday on whether or not baby comes out in pool or out of pool when the time comes. How was your experience, would you do it again, did you have the baby out of the pool? does it beat conventional methods with drug use eg epidural? thx moreResolved Question: Would it be proper to let myself die on my birthday?
I am 19, turning 20 tomorrow and i feel like my end is near. I have been suffering through major depression for the past few years since before high school was over. Each year its gotten worse and worse and now its to the point where any form of happiness is just a sheer fantasy. Only time i feel even the slightest relief is when im consuming alcohol and the desire to get drunk is my only ambition these days because no matter what ive tried to be happy and give my life any meaning(going to community college, working, my hobby etc) i still always end up feeling empty at the end of the day. Seeing others happy and fulfilled only adds more pain. Living a life where you feel irrelevant and that you're existence is meaningless is no way to live, its only right for me to be put out of my misery and since im too healthy and young to die of natural causes it seems my only hope is to take my own life and what better to do so on the day i was born. My only concern is what happens next? I am christian so im entitled to believe in heaven/hell but honestly i'd be content with just non-existence kind of like how you were before you were born moreVoting Question: i'm a seventeen year old girl with moderate to severe back pain..? please help?
i'm a seventeen year old female. i don't ear particularly great, don't exercise a lot, but am still at a better than healthy weight and size. i'm on a birth control that has completely eliminated my periods. as far as i know, i'm a healthy person. i have been going through some depression lately, and i know that can do some weird stuff to a person. i also have been kind of irregular. i do have, i think, quite an arched back, and a big behind for someone with such a small waist. this is everything that i can think of that would help figure out/ eliminate why my back pain is so constant. i get some relief when i bend over, and a lot of relief when i lay on my side with my legs curled up to me. it is effecting my life; i don't want to move, it's causing me a lot of pain and irritation. when i stand, it's now a natural reaction to hold my lower back with my hand, almost as a pregnant woman would. i've also have been particularly tired and lethargic, and having some breathing problems. but that could be due to anxiety, depression or a virus. can someone tell me whats going on? am i over reacting and thinking too much about it? what could this be, and what could be causing it? i've done a fair amount of research and i can't seem to find any answer matching my particular case. please help? moreResolved Question: What are alternative depression relief options?
I am pretty sure I am suffering from depression. I have no interest in anything anymore. I don't feel like hanging out with my friends or family. I'm always tired and never feel like eating. I drink protein shakes and take a shitload of vitamins to literally keep me alive. I constantly feel drunk and I think it's just from being delirious from my lack of eating and sleeping. I hate feeling this way, it is lirerally killing me. Everyone around me notices it as well and have commented on it. I've been feeling this way for about a year or so now. I can't see a doctor as I don't have medical insurance and my financal situatuon is not the best. Are there any other options? St. John's Wort doesn't work at all for me, and neither do vitamins or natural pain relivers. Are there any otc drugs I can purchase? Please help; any information is greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: Please, tell me what you think of my story.?
Stepping towards the cold, white building, Raine didn’t know what to expect. Would it be painful? Fast, slow, boring or interesting? What can you expect of murder? She took another step, trudging through the snow with what would seem like reluctance to anyone else, but it was just the snow, weighing her down. Like it was telling her to wait, to stop and think about what she was doing. Filled with fear and hatred for the thing inside her, she pushed forward with a new strength. As she took a big step, a sharp pain filled her, immobilizing her. Her ribs felt like they were moving, her organs, too. She gasped, and let out a high-pitched squeak of protest. “Stop kicking me, you stupid, stupid thing.” She breathed angrily. Almost as if it had heard her, it kicked again, harder. She yelled in pain, and felt lucky that no one was around, she didn’t want people to know that this thing had a hold on her, could cause at least on type of emotion in her. Even though it was only one emotion, it was the strongest emotion a human could have, right next to ‘love’. Hate. She hated this thing with a fierce revulsion; it was nothing to her, apart from a hindrance. A nuisance. To kill it wouldn’t be hard for her, it wouldn’t make her cry, or make her want to try again. No, this will make her happier, get her life back. That was the thing she missed most, her life. She missed the parties, the boys and even the fights. With thoughts of happiness in the near future, she pushed on again. “You’re dead.” She said to the thing inside her, with a fierce pleasure in those words. She stepped out of the deeper part of the snow, and put her hand out for the door handle. On the door was a cheerful ‘Welcome!’ and a large smiley face. How ironic. At least she wasn’t the only one happy to be here. “Hello, do you have an appointment?” The man at the desk asked. He looked nice, but his eyes held a worried look in them; sadness pointed towards me. He thought I didn’t want to do this. Man, was he wrong. “Yes,” She pulled out a card with the time and name of the doctor, “Twelve o’clock with Doctor Ali?” She said, relief filling her voice, which the man mistook as remorse. “Okay, she is with someone now, they just went in, and so you will have to wait a little while. Would you like a coffee, tea or water?” He smiled at her. “No, I’m fine thanks.” She turned, scowling, and went towards a seat. It smells in here, she thought. Like nappies, sanitizer and old people. A quiet radio was playing, ironically enough; it was playing that old song, something about ‘Bye, bye baby’. “Bye, bye baby…” She whispered to herself. The song finished and started playing ‘Barbie Girl’, and that song brought back so many memories. Raine couldn’t help but fall into a memory. She was looking at herself in the mirror. Her so-dark-brown-it’s-almost-black hair fell in natural curls and waves down to her breasts. Her eyes, ringed with long, luscious lashes, were a bright blue, with specks like lightning of darker – almost black – blue, looked at her with excitement. Raine knew she was pretty, her lips were full, but not overly pouty, and she was small and slender, with small boobs, no curves, and pale as snow. She had that natural super-model thing going for her. Raine never wore make-up, she didn’t need it. “Stop looking at yourself, Rainey!” Her friend, Emily, laughed at her. Emily was pretty much the opposite to Raine, in terms of looks. She had a nice tan, blonde hair – that didn’t make her look like a bimbo – and big, big boobs. She was slightly taller, and just as irresistible to the boys as Raine. Together, they we’re the most popular, the most beautiful at Falls High. And tonight was no exception. They we’re going to Jake’s eighteenth party. They were the only year tens to be invited, because they were the epitome of hot. “You ready to go, Emily?” Raine smiled brilliantly at her. “Yep, just give me a sec; I want to add another coat of mascara…” Her face went into a pretty frown as she concentrated on putting on the mascara evenly. Another thing that separated them in looks was that Emily wore make-up, lots of it. Although, she still managed to look totally non-bimbo-ey. When she finished, they ran out of the room and downstairs. Raine jumped on Emily’s brother, Kye, and kissed him on the cheek. It was no secret that he had a thing for her, even though he was nineteen, and graduated from high-school. “Kye,” She said in a sexy, slightly sulky voice, “you want to take me and Emily to Jake’s?” He sighed, but Raine already knew he was going to say yes, he was just bringing out the theatrics. “Fine, but you owe me.” He said to her, implying something sexual. “Oh, I do, do I?” She winked at him, and jumped off his lap. “Shot gun!” She yelled, and she and Emily started racing each other to Kye’s car, trying to beat each other to the front. Of course, Raine won. She always won. Kye came out of the house, smiling at Raine, and jogged to the car. “Oh“Oh crap! My heel broke!” Emily said, looking upset. “You guys go ahead; I’ll get a ride with Tray…” Then she winked. Tray was Emily’s almost-boyfriend. She’s lost her virginity to him, but he still liked Raine more than her. Also, Emily was the only person, including her parents, her didn’t notice Kye’s crush on Raine. She totally wouldn’t be cool with it. She ran off inside, leaving Raine to the man who was totally in love with her. Despite her good looks and sexy personality, Raine was still a virgin. Sure, she’d done a few things, but never all the way. Kye smiled at her, a brilliant flash of white, perfect teeth. Now, Kye was gorgeous! He had the same blonde that Emily had, and it fell in a messy heap on his head, but not too long and bed-heady like a lot of guys. He had green eyes, and a strong nose. Although Raine liked full lips, she loved Kye’s, too. His were thin, not too thin, but not too full either. Perfect. He started the car, and they went off down the street, in a mix moreVoting Question: How was your labour/birth experience?

For the past 7 months, when it first started as an annoying discomfort more than pain, to the extremely painful ache that has been getting worse, I kept being told pain was normal during pregnancy. Last week at 36 weeks, I was finally diagnosed with Pubic Symphisis Dysfunction (PSD) after months of complaining that the pain was getting worse. Yay! I'm diagnosed! And I was so relieved it wasn't all in my head after all, I totally forgot to ask some questions about it. So hopefully, some ladies here can help me out. I've already been diagnosed with mild, controlled pre-eclampsia for the moment, as well as gestational diabetes - so I have it all!! Anyway, PSD....this past week the pain has moved from extremely painful to excruciating where I'm in tears every night when I try and move and almost in tears getting dressed and moving about. My doctor told me to take some paracetamol for the pain and use heat packs. They aren't working! i was told about the physio options, but being so close to birth, I was told it probably won't help too much in the short time and would look into it after the birth if the pain persists. I want to plan on having a drug free birth, but ideally I know that may not happen. My body went into shock with my first pregnancy due to my low pain threshold. Next week I have to see an anesthetist to discuss pain relief, probably an epidural. But with the gestational diabetes, my baby has a big tummy (not a chubby tummy) and an ultrasound next week will see if it's still growing. Last week he measured at approx 7 pounds already and the size of a 39 week baby, so if he's grown bigger, they may elect for a c-section, which I don't really want. I really want a natural birth, but with the PSD, big baby and low pain threshold, I'm concerned about how I will handle it. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this and how labour was for them? Also, how long after delivery did it take for the pain to subside? Days, weeks, months? moreVoting Question: safe pain relief in pregnancy..please read?
hi, sorry for re-post but i got no answers and need advice! i often suffer with very sore shoulders which spreads down my arm and to my wrist and hand affecting my grip, usually this lasts a day and then goes but when i am pregnant to gets worse and is alot more painful, i suffered from this when i was pregnant with my last baby and my GP said i should really be on anti-inflamatories as it was very inflamed and sore but i cant take them when pregnant so i would have to just not use the arm as much as possible and take paracetamol, it took nearly 2 weeks off work and not using the arm before it got better, this pain started again yesterday, the first time this pregnancy, it seems to be linked to getting cold or wet, anyway i went to the chemist who gave me co-codemol and i have been wearing a arm support and applying tiger balm which is a natural remedy made from veg extracts, the pain is a little better but it is still hurting, i have 2 other kids to look after so it is not always possible not to use my arm as i need to push the pram etc, i am going on holiday in 10 days and would really like the pain to have at least dulled before i go, is there anything you can advise that is safe to do/ take? im 20weeks pregnant, thanks. moreResolved Question: is this helpful for you? how can it be better? ''NSAIDs''pain relief?
generally there is a main rule in medicine administration, If u have to choose between two harmful choices choose the least harmful , Side effects are side reaction beside the wanted to occur present even in natural herbals like liquorice having the same side effects of cortisone, However those side effects in some case are according to potency of drug accumulative e.x ergotamine (for sever headache) "if u took more 10 pills weakly lead u to serious side effect like hypertension" What i am trying to say as the choose of drug is important also the way you take it , About the NSAIDs like celebrex , What really worrying me that some arthritis are rheumatic means accumulation of NSAID increasing risk of side effects (headache, confusion and other CNS symptoms, increased BP, worsening of hypertension, edema, and decreased platelet function) especially those related to cardiovascular patients and those with previous ulcers or dyspepsia, The risk always there with such vigorous diseases like arthritis , What must be done with any medicine, is recent clinical studies those important the drug effect differ with race and environment which differs with time also human body i mean in long intervals those peccary quality control tests are not last defense line Responsibility also falls on physician who prescribes and pharmacist who provides in such cases like high risk side effects ,the drug must given by prescription updated with date that he takes medicine every time he goes to a pharmacy . moreResolved Question: i need a doctor or someone who knows!! Ear ache isn't draining..?
So, i've had an ear ache for about 3 or 4 days now. First it started as a stuffy nose, when i went to sleep i woke up early the next morning with a lot of pain in my right ear. For most of that day i laied my ear on a cloth with hot water, a heating pad, and tried a hair dryer to warm my ears. That seemed to help my right ear-it started draining- but then my left ear started getting stuffy. At this point my right ear is mostly cleared, it still drains somewhat and hurts a little, my left ear is pretty much completely plugged- sound is extremely muffled and it's not draining except an occassional wetness when i sleep. Medicines i've been taking are these. First day i took ibuprofen, and an equate headache reliever. The following days i took garlic pills, echinacea, golden seal, ibuprofen, a headache reliever, mucus sinus relief, suphenedrine PE(like sudafed PE), and an all natural ear drops for pain. The only ones i've taken together are all the natural ones and one chemically one(or whatever you want to call it). i've noticed that when i use the heating pad anymore it makes the pain worse. My previous activities had been swimming. i haven't swam in like 3 years. we went at night for 3 consecutive days, the pool was always warm and so was the weather. i dived a few times in the 12 foot end which i had never done before. if you have any ideas of what my problem is or how i can fix it, please tell me. i'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks a ton. :) moreResolved Question: chlamydia relief. how long?
About one month ago and 1 week I had unprotected sex. Felt no symptoms till about a week ago, i woke up in the morning and peed and it burnt real bad and was sometime peeing 2 different streams of urine so I thought I had a UTI. Without going to the doctor I started to drink alot of water and cranberry juice and started taking natural cranberry pills, then I did a little more research and found out what I had was chlamydia. Symptoms i felt include *penis discomfort *burning/stinging during and after urination *slight penile pain *discharge that would stain underwear *itchiness on head or inside penis *two streams of urine *testicles hurt when touched so I started treating my chlamydia with Zithromax (azithromycin) i bought a box that contained 3 500mg azythromycin pills. I took all three in 24 hours. 1 every 8 hours. it is now 3rd day since I took the medication and am feeling better. I lost the burning sensation mostly, sometimes get it in the morning but not as bad. No discharge anymore that will stain underwear but I no there still is some in penis. And i am finally getting and almost normal stream of urine. I still have slight penile discomfort/pain/itchiness sometimes while not urinating. And my testicles kind of hurt when touched. Overall im feeling much better then the first the day of antibiotics but still wondering if normal to still feel discomfort and how long till there is no discomfort/pain/itchiness and i can get back up on the horse (safely this time i know). thanks moreResolved Question: pancreatitis in pregnancy. what can i do? uk only for medical advice?
I was diagnosed with pancreatitis when I was 17 through binge drinking. Somthing I am not proud of. That was 10 years ago now. Since then I have had two children. One in 2007 which involved no problems. Tthe next in 2008 which my pancreatitis returned towards the last few weeks of my pregnancy. This caused me to be induced to give birth on my due date as they worried I would go over. Since then I have had good health and no other flare ups. That was until I was 10 weeks pregnant when I was adnitted to hospital with my 2nd flare up. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and have been admitted on 2 other occasions in the past 2 weeks for 4 days each time. I have been informed that my condition is now chronic and there is not much else that can be done for me at least until the baby is born. I have been perscribed tramadol as I am allergic to codiene and need a stronger painkiller than paracetamol. However these are not usually recommended during pregnancy as the effects are unclear. This in itself is a worry and I wanted to know if anyone else has been in this position or has medical experience to suggest healthier forms of pain relief or natural therapies I could try. I would like to make it clear I am now a responsible adult I do not drink even on special occasions. I live a healthy lifesttyle and was told that the position I am in is rare and had no idea this condition would worsen when I decided to concieve again. Thank you, in advance for any viable help or advice.Joe people like you are unbearably annoying you obviously have no consideration for other people whatsoever!!!!! moreResolved Question: Really nervous? Anyone had this..?
I'll be 33 weeks pregnant tomorrow (Saturday). I had to speak with an anesthesiologist due to a back surgery I had in 2003. According to him, I'll most likely have to have a natural birth, because if I wanted an epidural they'd have to go in from one side (I had titanium rods put into my back along my spine and a complete fusion from the bone graft that covers the rods from up between my shoulders and down to the small of my back). If I wanted a spinal, I'd be extremely risky because it would have to go MUCH higher than a normal one. He recommended asking my doctor about statol, and about opioids, at my next visit for pain relief during a natural birth. Has anyone had either type of drug? I'm just really scared about this whole situation.Haha forgot to mention, I was scared of the epidural/spinal idea in the beginning anyway because of my back. Now it just terrifies me, because the anesthesiologist told me if I need an emergency C-Section, they give the anesthetics with a spinal. Thank you again to all those who answer! moreResolved Question: How is my essay so far?
Joe Benevolent witnesses Mercy Demure getting beat up in a dark alley. His scrupulous attitude encourages him to call the local authorities and alleviate Mercy’s pain. After the police arrive, Joe acts quickly and brings Mercy to the hospital. Joe Benevolent is one of the many epitomes of rectitude. I most certainly believe that human beings are benign souls by nature with heroic deeds pursuing philatrophic causes. Individuals, at times, may be tempted to act unethical and adhere to their own interests; but their magnanimous minds proliferate with altruism. Mother Teresa is a solid epitome of a true humanitarian. She cares for the unwanted and poorest of the poor with affection and acceptance. Mother Teresa opened many shelters in major cities such as San Francisco and New York City. Many kind individuals became astounded with how open her heart was to others. Also she opened kitchens where volunteers helped to cook and serve the poor. If someone was in need of medical attention, she found medicine for them. If someone was naked, she would clothe them. If someone was hungry, she would feed them. Mother Teresa, to this day, is the luminescent glow of the selflessness present in humanity. The Franciscan Brothers and Daughters of Charity are two nonprofit, Catholic organizations exhibit great profundity in the meaning of “love thy neighbor”. After natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina when it hit New Orleans or the earthquakes in Haiti, relief funds get organized by these organizations. Many nuns or priests in the organization even travel to aftermath to provide a source of support and pray with the victims of the disaster. Their beneficial beings help build houses for the less fortunate and provide canned and basic necessities through food and clothing drives. The Franciscan Brothers and Daughters of Charity demonstrate true human tenderness to those who need it the most. With the meaningful and gallant thoughts and actions of humanity, God made humans perfectly unselfish by nature. No matter the circumstances of any situation, when another being is involved our conscientious minds carry out noble intentions. moreResolved Question: what can I mix together to make a natural pain relief cream / paste?

I really didn't want to ask ANOTHER question - this makes 3 this morning. I have a recently injured kitten which cannot be seen by the vet until tomorrow. But I'm told it is such a huge relief and way better than going through the pain of natural birth. But does the huge needle in your back like kill you, or is it a little pinch? I'd love to have children and don't want to adopt. But I'm terrified about the birth. I have a very, very low pain threashold and do not believe that having a baby needs to hurt as much as it does. I was more or less resigned to never having kids until I found out about epidurals, and now I believe I would be able to just about tolerate the pain if I could absolutely, definitely guarantee I would get one. However, I am scared that I might not be offered one as at least two of my friends were not able to get an epidural when they had their babies, even though they wanted one. Can anyone here tell me what's the best way to ensure I don't get denies the only form of pain relief I think is adequate (I have done a LOT of research and have no interest in 'natural' coping mechanisms as I know my intolerance to pain is too low). Will making it clear right from the get-go that this is how I want to do things be enough? I would like to know things like where I should go (hospital vs birthing centre), what I should get the Dr to write on my notes, what point I should ask for it, etc. I would also consider an elective c-section if it turns out I can't absolutely guarantee I'll get one, but would rather not resort to that if possible. many thanks in advance!PS, I'm in the UK!Pop and Fun> thanks so much for your answer, it's sort of reassured and scared me in equal measure. I want that to be the only word on my birth plan so nobody can mess me around, but it worries me that they did with you anyway. I think what I have actually amounts to a phobia. I have had a few dealings with MH services before, so I think I may go down this route to ensure I get proper care. I know that sounds selfish, but I genuinely believe some women need stronger pain relief than others and should take priority. I do understand in a way why you're making the decision you are with your next baby, and I really really hope it goes well for you. moreResolved Question: Health Fitness and Nutrition?

Determined I had one small stone. It was a couple millimeters. They said to drink TONS of water and try to catch it, and gave me Percocet for the pain. I ended up passing the stone after about 2 days. But, was unable to catch it, so I don't know what causes my stones. I currently have no health insurance and no money to pay for doctors and such, and visits to the ER are very expensive here. Back in December I got the same pain I get from a Kidney Stone in my right kidney. Went to the ER, they didn't do much for me, since I have no way to pay. They give you very minimal treatment if you can't pay. They basically just gave me a prescription for Vicodin and 800mg of Ibuprofen tablets. I had pain off and on for about a week, eventually, it just stopped. I never did pass the stone though, I'm sure of that. Then about a week ago, I started getting really bad pain in my left kidney. So, I guess I have a new stone in there. I had some Vicodin left from December. But, I used all that. Now all I have is the Ibuprofen. It doesn't really work. I should go to the ER when I get pain again, but I am tired of racking up huge bills that I can't pay. Not to mention, they usually just give Vicodin for the pain (which no longer works on me) and if I ask for something else it might just look like I only want the drugs. So, I'm trying not to go to the ER unless I really have to. Thankfully, today has been pain free. I hope it stays that way. But, I'm sure I didn't pass the stone. As far as I know, I have at least one in each kidney. So, what I am wondering, does anyone know any real (and SAFE) natural remedies that can help break up/dissolve kidney stones? I've been reading up online about all this stuff, I read that Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with some warm water is supposed to help certain kinds of kidney stones. I don't know what mine are from though or if the ACV solution will help. But, I started trying it last night. I also read Lemon Juice with Olive Oil helps, but there is no way I am trying that one. That sounds horrible. I am just barely managing the ACV. I also read Lemon Juice with water helps. I might be able to try that one. They're the only ones I know though. So, please, if anyone knows any other safe, natural home remedies I can try that would help break up/dissolve my stones, that'd be great. Also, for those familiar with the remedies I already mentioned, does anyone know if they're good for all kinds of kidney stones? Or, only certain kinds? And, which kinds are these remedies good for? Sorry for this being so long and informational, I just wanted to be as specific as possible about my history in case it helps. I'm just desperate to try to get rid of these stones and get some relief. Please, honest and thoughtful answers only! moreResolved Question: pregnancy after birth?
